My Mentors
It is safe to say that most successful artists can look back and acknowledge the far-reaching influence of a good mentor during their formative years.
The recent untimely deaths of two of my mentors have provoked me to create this section, in which I wish to honor those people who have invested themselves in me as an artist.
To compile an exhaustive list would be impossible. Not only have I had mentors in other areas of study, but many good art teachers, like Fernando Freitas, who have encouraged my work along its way. The six people I have chosen for this list are those who have consistently invested the most time in my artistic development over a period of several years, and whose generosity and inspired guidance have most influenced my understanding of the art and techniques of painting.
